Why do I have an Ocean Liner Bank Note Collection? I kind of have a thing for Ocean Liners, in particular Atlantic Ocean liners. Yes, yes I’m a dork. My interest began with my first “real research paper” that I did on the Titanic when I was in 6th grade. Let me be clear – these are not cruise ships but ocean liners. There’s just something about these grand ships that fascinate me. Maybe because from the 1830s to the 1950s they were the only way to travel internationally before passenger jet airplanes or because for a century they were the largest man made moving objects and became a significant part of the melting pot that we call the United States. I can't be the only one because many countries from around the world that have put ocean liners on their bank notes.
