This new website and is currently under construction and will be for quite some time. I ask for you patience while work continues.Thank You - Dan.
NOTE:
This website has been created for education purposes only and to support the YouTube channel Polar Currency (www.youtube.com/@PolarCurrency). The channel is dedicated to the collecting of paper currency. This is not your typical 'numismatic' channel. It's for Notaphilist - collectors of banknotes or paper money.. The focus isn’t just about the grade of a banknote or the cost but primarily concentrates on the 250 year history of banknotes. The quality, artistry, craftsmanship and the people who appear, have signed, or have produced our money. I’m not expert. I simply gather information and tell a story to the best of my ability and hopefully present it in an entertaining way.
This section is basically a currency thesaurus and a whole lot more. Don't know a term or word meaning? What is the anatomy of a banknote? How about Grading? What really is a banknote error? or better yet - what is a Fancy Serial #?It all starts here.
VIDEOS
The Polar Currency Channel has different types of videos - YouTube calls them 'Playlists'. It starts with the history of banknotes, the hobby, banknote information, interviews, video podcasts and a lot more, Here you can find the category list breakdown and a breif description of each video.
One of the main reasons that this website was needed was a place for content to be easily made for the banknote collectors. From spreadsheets to books you can check here for my non-expert opinion of information that I've learned from others and that I believe can help your collection.
